UNREGISTERED SIRESThere are a number of sires that are marketed every year by AB companies that are not registered with Holstein Friesian New Zealand. If you breed a registered cow to an unregistered sire, the resulting progeny will be registered S0F. If you want to grade up your herd and/or maintain the pedigree status of cows in your herd, this list will serve to let you know which bulls are not registered. Please note that while all care has been taken to ensure that these lists are correct, we are reliant on receiving sire catalogues from all AB companies and check through these before publishing the unregistered sires list. Holstein Friesian New Zealand endeavours to contact the breeding companies to ensure as many bulls are registered as possible. This list will be updated as bulls are registered or removed from the catalogue by each respective marketer. If you are unsure about the registration status of a Holstein Friesian sire please do not hesitate to contact Sharon Goldsbury. Unregistered Sires
Registered Sires with less than F16 breed contentThere are some registered sires that contain less than 100% (F16) breed content. If you breed a cow with 50% (F8) breed content to a bull with less than 100% breed content then it will take longer for the resulting generations to reach pedigree (F16) status. The table below lists sires that have less than F16 breed content.
